A near-patient approach to combat part-partum haemorrhage

Clinicians need to know as quickly as possible if fibrinogen products have to be administered to manage coagulopathic bleeds due to hypofibrinogenemia during PPH. This article looks at observational studies which assess the value of POCT and the role of fibrinogen as a marker for increasing PPH. They also report on a novel POC solution (qLabs FIB Monitoring System), developed to measure fibrinogen levels from a single drop of whole blood.
